Just make sure you obtain a Chinese Visa in advance. If you have any further question, please feel free to contact us now!

How far in advance should I book a Tibet tour from Vietnam?

To ensure a smooth travel, we advise booking your Tibet tour at least 20 days in advance. This allows ample time for confirming your Tibet travel plans, processing the Tibet Travel Permit, and delivering it to your specified address in the mainland of China.

For Mount Kailash tours, consider reserving your trip at least 30 days ahead. This extra time is necessary for obtaining additional travel documents like the Alien’s Travel Permit and Military Permit.

What is the most ideal time for a Tibet tour from Vietnam?

Tibet welcomes visitors throughout the year, except for late February to March. Generally, the best time to visit Tibet is from April to early June and from September to October. During these periods, Tibet enjoys pleasant weather, and excellent visibility, and is unaffected by the monsoon season, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing in Tibet.

Winter in Tibet, from November to mid-February, is the off-season for Tibet tours. However, it is the best time for a budget Tibet winter tour. If you visit Tibet in winter, you can save significantly and reduce your travel expenses, since hotels and flights to Tibet offer great discounts in winter. Additionally, you’ll experience fewer crowds at attractions and a more immersive Buddhist ambiance.

If you are interested in Tibetan culture, the most ideal times for a Tibet tour include the major festivals such as the Saga Dawa Festival (in May or June), the Shoton Festival (in August), the Tsongkhapa Butter Lamp Festival (in December), and the Tibetan New Year (in February).

How can I prevent high altitude sickness when visiting Tibet?

Preventing altitude sickness in Tibet when traveling from Vietnam is vital due to the sudden altitude increase. Tibet’s average elevation exceeds 4000 meters, with Lhasa situated at 3650 meters, which often leads to symptoms upon arrival from Vietnam.

Headaches and nausea, typical symptoms of altitude sickness, may occur. Yet, there's no need for excessive worry. In most cases, your body naturally adjusts within a day or two, relieving these discomforts.

To further guarantee your comfort and safety, our travel vehicles are equipped with oxygen tanks. Additionally, our seasoned travel guides are always at your service.

If you feel uncomfortable, please tell your guide immediately, who can help with some treatments or help you move to a lower altitude and even take you to a hospital if that is necessary.

What are the top attractions in Tibet?

Almost every Tibet tour starts with Lhasa and no Lhasa tour could be complete without a visit to the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street.

Other popular attractions in Lhasa include the ‘Great Three Gelugpa Monasteries’, namely Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Ganden Monastery, where you can learn more about Tibetan Buddhism.

Never miss a chance to visit one of the holy lakes in Tibet. The trip to Yamdrok Lake takes half a day from Lhasa, while the visit to the famous Namtso Lake takes a day.

For most of our customers, Mount Everest is the reason to visit Tibet. While reaching the Everest Base Camp at 5200 meters above sea level, you can face the top of the world just behind you. It could be a lifetime experience to get to the world’s highest mountain.

Along the way from Lhasa to Mount Everest, there are highlights in Gyantse and Shigatse, such as the Tashilunpo Monastery, the Palcho Monastery, etc.

In the far west of Tibet, Mount Kailash, the most sacred mountain in four religions, attracts not only pilgrims but also adventurers to come. The nearby Lake Manasarovar is also a part of the yatra, which is one of the three greatest holy lakes in Tibet.

A classic Mount Kailash tour with Lake Manasarovar takes 15 days starting from Lhasa or 10 days from Kathmandu if you travel by land. Taking a flight from Lhasa to Ngari Kunsha Airport can shorten the trip. If you require a private trip with a tight schedule, feel free to contact us for a customized itinerary.

The shortest Tibet tour typically lasts 4 days and covers essential landmarks of Tibet, such as the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street.

For other special-themed tours in Tibet, like Tibet biking tours or Tibet trekking tours, more time may be needed to fully explore the region. Don't hesitate to reach out to us to receive a detailed itinerary for your ideal trip.

Can Vietnamese tourists travel independently to Tibet?

For all the international tourists, independent travel is not available in Tibet, but for solo travelers or those who are seeking a free exploration in Tibet, there are still ways to go.

For solo travelers, the best way is to join a small group tour in Tibet. By sharing the vehicle, travel guide, and driver with group members, you can save a lot on the cost of a Tibet tour.

For those who want to explore Tibet more flexibly, it is ideal to customize a private Tibet tour.
