This is a once-in-a-lifetime trekking experience to reach Everest Advanced Base Camp in Tibet. At 6,500 meters above sea level, it’s the highest point non-climbers can reach on Mount Everest without technical climbing.
Starting from Rongbuk Monastery at Everest Base Camp (around 5,000m), the trek to ABC covers a 22-km route in total, which takes 4 to 5 days. Along the way, you’ll witness uniquely shaped ice formations before reaching the Intermediate Camp (5,800m). From there, the trail continues past the striking East Rongbuk Glacier, leading to the Advanced Base Camp (6,500m), nestled alongside the glacier. You’ll be amazed by the awe-inspiring views of Everest’s northern face.
Moreover, you’ll explore the historical and cultural relics in Lhasa and Shigatse, gaining deeper insight into Tibetan culture and religion.
Important Notice:
Currently, since the application for the trekking permit from EBC to ABC is no longer available, the EBC to ABC trek is temporarily suspended. We promise to inform you in the first place if it reopens to the public. (Updated July 2025)
